Palau will be sending its participant in this year’s Miss Tourism World to be hosted by Taiwan.
This is according to Lily Chen, a member of the 2007 Miss Tourism World Final Committee who visited Palau along with the beauty pageant’s Vice President David Singh, 2003 Miss Tourism World winner Alina Ciorogariu of Romania and 2006 Miss Bikini World title holder Anita Horvath of Hungary.
"We’re here to promote the contest. Palau will have its representative too," Chen told reporters on Saturday while the visiting two beauty queens met with President Remengesau at the Palau Pacific Resort’s beach.
Taiwan, which hosted last year’s Miss Bikini World that made the 21-year old Horbath the winner, will be hosting the Miss Tourism World this time.
The Finals will be held on November in Taipei.
Chen said a total of 108 countries have signified their intention to vie for the coveted title, including Palau.
The group arrived in Palau on Friday night April 13.
Accompanied by Sen. Alan Seid, they visited Ngemelis in the Rock Islands on Saturday morning, met the president in the evening at the PPR, where they met members of print media men and had a presentation.
Then on Sunday, the group visited Dolphins Pacific in the morning and around Babeldaob in the afternoon before they left in the evening.
