Red Sox clobber Dragons, 18-1

RED Sox pitcher Clayton Aguon went perfect at the plate and was steady on the mound to lead his team to an 18-1 demolition of the San Antonio Dragons in the Majors division of the 2007 Saipan Little League Baseball tournament last Sunday at the Miguel “Tan Ge” Basa Pangelinan Ballfield.
Clayton was 3-for-3 and scored three runs, He also had a double and an RBI. The Red Sox pitcher pitched in four innings allowing only one hit and giving up one run.
Jonathan Inacio nailed the Dragons’ lone run scoring an inside-the-park homer in the third inning.
The victory improved the Bank of Saipan-sponsored team’s record to 3-3, while the PIC/Deloitte-sponsored Dragons dropped to a 1-6 slate.
Also winning their Majors games last Sunday were the Mobil Kagman Aztecs, the Ol’Aces I and the Kautz Glass/Pirates.
The Aztecs played in the first game and scored an easy win over McDonald’s, 12-1.
Tim Deleon Guerrero went 3-for-4 at the plate with three runs, two doubles, a homer and two RBIs.
Starting pitcher Ricardo Dela Cruz pitched in five innings allowing only three hits and giving up a run. On offense, he was 2-for-3 at the plate with three runs, two doubles and an RBI.
The Aztecs now have six wins after seven games, while McDonald’s dropped to a 4-3 record.
In the third game, the Ol’Aces I gained their second win in nine games after slipping past the Little Legals, 16-15.
Jeremy Lizama paced the Ol’Aces I going 3-for-3 at the plate with three runs and an RBI.
The last game in the Majors division featured the Pirates and the San Vicente A’s with the former ending the game after only three innings and notching a 19-0 victory.
Frankie Camacho pitched for the Pirates in the first two innings allowing only two hits.
LJ Norita, who replaced Camacho on the mound in the third inning and had a no-hitter, was perfect at the plate going 3-for-3 with three runs, two doubles, a single an RBI and one inside-the-park homer.
Shu Sato also helped the Pirates’ cause going 3-for-4 with four runs and two RBIs.
In the Juniors division, the Jets and the Hustlers prevailed against separate foes.
The Jets topped the Warriors, 9-6, while the Hustlers pounded the Ol’Aces, 27-4.
Jonathan Celis led the Hustlers’ offense going 5-for-5 at the plate with four runs, two doubles, a triple and three RBIs.
Nokkie Saralu went 4-for-5 with five runs, a double and an RBI, while Eric Tenorio was 4-for-6 and scored five runs, a triple, four RBIs and one inside-the-park homerun.
In the lone Seniors game, the Hustlers defeated the Fielders, 15-7.
