The cast for
the Final Four of the 2007 Palau Major League was virtually completed
this week but only the number one spot has already been reserved for PCC
Mesekiu.
PCC has a commanding 19-1 win-loss record with just a game left of the
ongoing third round.
Mesekiu outplayed Ngardmau, 15-8, last Saturday that virtually sent the
Pirates out of contention from the playoff round with their current 9-9
markings in fifth place.
Despite their remaining three games, the Pirates will have no room catching
up with three other qualifiers Kayangel (15-5), Airai (13-6) and Ngerbeched
(13-6), the last three still positioning themselves in the second, third
and fourth places of the playoffs to start in just over a week depending
on the weather.
Rains have been hampering the schedule of games with a total of seven
rained out games still to be played including last nights match
between Airai and Ngerbeched.
That game was still in progress with the loser will have no chance for
the second spot.
Kayangel needed to win its two remaining games to assure itself of the
second spot.
The K Angels scored a 15-5 win over Koror last Saturday April 14, then
came-up with a 19-4 victory over Peches last Wednesday April 18.
Airai defeated Ngaraard, 20-2, last April 12.
The team standings for the rest of the field are Ngerbeches (4-15), Koror
(4-17) and Ngaraard (0-18).
