THE people of Tinian will
miss the services of William Bill Cing as Chairman of the
Tinian Gaming Control Commission. He has been a very competent manager
of the commission, as he was previously for the Tinian Mayors Office
and the Tinian Public School System.
As I remember, Bill did a tour in the U.S. Army after high school and
then completed a college degree in Hawaii. He returned to Tinian and became
principal of the old Tinian High School where I first met him. Bill subsequently
became the chief executive officer for the Tinian Mayors Office,
where he did an excellent job. He was then appointed to the Gaming Control
Commission and became its chairman.
Bill tells me he is not interested in seeking a political career, which
is unfortunate because he is highly qualified and would represent the
interests of the people of Tinian well. Perhaps that has to do with his
candor and personal code of ethics about telling the truth. He says he
prefers administration, at which he clearly excels.
Perhaps we might convince Chairman Cing to compose a farewell address
to the gaming control commission and the people of Tinian, giving us a
candid, straightforward report on the current status of the gaming industry
on Tinian and his recommendations for promoting the future of the industry.
Tell the public truthfully what needs to be done to make it as successful
as he dreamed it would be when the initiative he helped create became
law.
Thank you, Mr. Cing, for your service and the best of luck to you, whatever
you decide to do next for the people of Tinian.
