THE former L&T security guard who set himself on fire in the hallway of the Department of Labor on Tuesday will be flown to Manila on Saturday for treatment, according to the Department of Public Safety.
DPS spokeswoman Lei Ogumoro said Buddhie Lal Dhimal, 49, is still under observation at the intensive care unit of the Commonwealth Health Center due to second and third degree burns.
Ogumoro said no criminal charges are to be filed against Dhimal for setting himself on fire.
Dhimal, who is from Nepal, had been ordered to leave the CNMI and was trying to get his repatriation ticket from the Department of Labor on Tuesday.
Dhimal was a security guard at L&T International Corp. up to Aug. 19, 2005 before he was illegally employed by Lucky Security Service from Nov. 2005 to Jan. 2006.
On Tuesday morning, Dhimal poured a flammable liquid on himself and used a lighter to set himself in fire.
Dhimal sustained second and third degree burns on his body and was rushed to CHC.
