THROUGH further investigation, the Guam Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Section was able to arrest another suspect in connection with last week’s raid on a house in Astumbo, Dededo filled with stolen items and drugs.
Steven Anthony Camacho, 21, of Ordot, was booked and confined on three counts of burglary, conspiracy to commit burglary, criminal facilitation, and guilt established by complicity.
Previously arrested in this case were the owners of the home raided last Thursday — Raymond I. Duenas, 33, and Lourdes Castro Duenas, 40, both of Dededo. Yesterday, the couple was indicted by a grand jury of the Guam District Court. (See full story on page 2)
This is not Camacho’s first run-in with the law. He has a criminal sexual conduct case.
“On April 19, we conducted a search with Tumon precinct officials and numerous items were confiscated from the scene,” said CIS agent B. Piolo. “Further investigation led us to pick up Camacho for questioning in the Astumbo case which led to his arrest.”
Police were able to link him to three separate burglaries in separate villages. The case remains under investigation and further arrests are pending.
Meanwhile, police continue their search for another suspect believed to be connected to last Thursday’s raid. Police are searching for Franklin Bamba Atoigue, 36, who is considered armed and dangerous.
Atoigue is described by police as 5-feet-7-inches to 5-feet-8-inches tall and weighing over 165 pounds. Atoigue has brown eyes and black hair. He was last seen wearing a black t-shirt and blue shorts. He did not have any footwear.
The suspect was last seen at 3 p.m. Monday on Route 3 across from Astumbo Gardens before running into a jungle area to escape Superior Court marshals who were serving a bench warrant for his arrest.
If you have any information on the whereabouts of Atoigue, call CIS at 475-8557 or Guam Crime Stoppers at 477-HELP (4357). Crime Stoppers does not use caller ID and you do not have to leave your name.
