ONE of the suspects in a busted burglary ring in the island was arrested late yesterday afternoon in the Harmon cliff line.
Franklin Bamba Atoigue, 36, was cornered by joint operatives from the Guam Police Department’s Swat and the Superior Court Marshals at about 5:50 p.m. yesterday.
GPD public information officer Allan Guzman said Atoigue, who has a standing warrant of arrest, was found in an abandoned shack near the Harmon cliff line after local law enforcers were given information about his possible whereabouts.
Atoigue, who was linked to a series of burglaries in different villages, was brought to the Tamuning precinct for further questioning.
He was almost caught on Thursday by court marshals but was able to escape by running into a jungle area near Astumbo Gardens on Route 3.
Police who are conducting further investigation on burglary cases are expected to arrest more individuals following a raid on a house in Astumbo, Dededo last week.
Previously arrested and charged in court are Raymond Duenas and his wife Lourdes Duenas, who are residents of the raided house.
Their arrest was followed by the apprehension on Wednesday of Steven Anthony Camacho, 21, of Ordot who was booked and confined on three counts of burglary, conspiracy to commit burglary, criminal facilitation and guilt established by complicity.
The Duenas couple was charged before the federal and Superior Court with conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute and using and carrying a firearm during a drug trafficking.
