7 vie for Miss Guam Tourism 2007

SEVEN of Guam’s local beauties will compete for the title of Miss Guam Tourism 2007 this Saturday, April 28.
The lucky winner will be the face of Guam tourism for the next year and will represent Guam on up to 30 off-island trips, playing a vital role in the Guam Visitors Bureau’s marketing efforts both here and abroad.
Categories include Miss Guam Tourism 2007; 1st Runner Up; 2nd Runner Up; People’s Choice; Best in Swimsuit; Best in Evening Gown; Best in Native Costume; Miss Photogenic; and Miss Congeniality.
According to GVB, all of the winners may potentially be called upon to represent Guam on one or more occasions.
The 2007 contestants are Christina Quintanilla, Vanessa Losongco, Tiffany Degracia, Jeannie Aevermann, Naiomi Uncangco, Lisa Cruz, and Dianna Ladmirault.
Residents can still vote for the People’s Choice Award by logging on to www.visitguam.org or texting on a GuamCell wireless phone, ‘MGT’ and contestant number to 4532. There is a $0.10 charge per text message.
The voting ends at 12 a.m., April 28.
The pageant will take place at 7 p.m. this Saturday at the University of Guam Fieldhouse. This year’s theme, “Fiesta of Beauty,” features different aspects of Guam’s culture and history.
From stage design, choreography, music selection, colors, to the script, the pageant will depict the following cultural themes: pre-inhabited Guam, Spanish Guam, authentic Guam, ancient Guam and modern Guam.
According to GVB, attendees will enjoy the display of Guam’s culture and heritage with island beauties as they compete for cash prizes, celebrity endorsement opportunities, wardrobe, makeup, jewelry prizes, and the honor of representing Guam, both locally and overseas
Tickets for the pageant night are priced at $25 each and will be available at the door by 6 p.m. at the UOG Fieldhouse.
