5K Run to the Philippines tomorrow


THE Martial Arts Karate Do Micronesia Club will be holding the “5K Run to the Philippines” tomorrow.
Registration starts at 7 a.m., while the race will kick off at 7:30 a.m. The 5-k race will begin at La Pavilion after the 13 Fisherman Monument with the finish line located at the pavilion at American Memorial Park.
The entrance fee is $5.
Prizes will be given to the top three placers.


MRA point race this Sunday


(MRA) — The Marianas Racing Association will be holding another point race on April 29 at the Cowtown Raceway Park in Marpi.
The second point race will make up for the lack of a race in March. Last month, MRA did not schedule a race, as its riders were busy preparing for a series of exhibition races in Rota.
After the Rota races, MRA riders were back at their home turf competing in the first April point race on April 15 with Walter Sablan, Emelsha Cepeda, , Kijay Ada, Nathan Quitano, Patty Cepeda, Aaron Pangelinan, Shane Alvarez, Ellery Cruz, Steve Sablan winning their respective events.
MRA is holding point races to determine the top rider at the end of the season.


Slow-pitch softball opening tonight


The 2007 Men’s and Women’s Island-wide Slow-pitch Softball League will kick off tonight with four games at the Miguel “Tan Ge” Basa Pangelinan Ballfield.
Chura and Roots will start the hostilities in the annual tournament as they meet at 6 p.m. Set to play in the second game at 7 p.m. are Got Pugua and X-lusive. Senoritas collide with Bomsoro in the third match at 8 p.m., while the last game at 9 p.m. will feature Team Sabalu and High Life.
