BASKETBALL Association of Northern Mariana Islands is calling on all heads/members of basketball leagues/associations in the NMI to attend a meeting tomorrow at the Gilbert C. Ada Gym.
The meeting will run from 9 a.m. to 12 n.n. in Ada Gym’s conference room.
BANMI’s Elias Rangamar said that it is important for basketball enthusiasts in the commonwealth to attend the meeting, as they want every basketball group/leagues to be involved in the development of the sport in the NMI.
“We wanted to have a one, united association where everybody has a say as to what are we going to do to push for the development of basketball in the CNMI,” Rangamar said.
“We also want to know how BANMI can help various leagues in their programs,” he added.
Rangamar said officials/members of UFO league, MDX league, Masters, women’s basketball, Mobil, NYBA, MISA high school league, PSS elementary cage tournament and Genesis Cup are encouraged to attend the meeting.
“This will be a long meeting and we want to hear what every one wants to say,” Rangamar said.
Meanwhile, BANMI Referees Association will also hold a meeting this weekend.
The meeting is set for Sunday at NMC Gym.
This is the last chance for referees, who have yet to sign up with the new association, to join the group.
Only referees accredited by the new group will be allowed to officiate BANMI-sanctioned tournaments. Roselyn B. Monroyo

670 will meet the Hoopaholics in the first game this Saturday, the Ol’Aces will face Hi-Five in the second match and the G-Stars will collide with the Cholos in the third game.
On Sunday, the Sonics will fight the Cyclones in the first match, while Ghasias will take on the G-Rollers in the second game.
