Aztecs’ Regis is new batting leader in Majors; McDonald’s Tenorio still pitching king

LEROY Regis of the Mobil Kagman Aztecs moved to the top of the batting leaders’ list, while Patrick Tenorio of McDonald’s kept the No. 1 spot in the pitching race after last Saturday’s games in the Majors division of the 2007 Saipan Little League Baseball tournament.
Reyes, who was fourth on the batting leaders’ list in the statistics released by SLLB on April 1, jumped three notches taking over the lead with his 20-for-28 performance at the plate.
The Aztecs shortstop has a .714 battling average in seven games and has led his team to a 6-1 record for second place in the 16-team field.
The Hustlers’ Aldebert Lizama, in third place before, moved up to second with his .684 batting average. He is 13-for-19 at the plate in the Hustlers six games. The Hustlers are in third place with a 5-1 slate.
Former batting leader Ton Camacho of the Wells Fargo/As Matuis Twins dropped to sixth place with his 12-for-19 performance at the plate for a .632 average.
Rounding out the top five were the Twins’ Robert Tudela (13-for-20, .650 average), the Patriots’ Brian Camacho (20-for-31, .645) and the Aztecs’ Ricardo Dela Cruz (16-for-25, .640).
Jeremy Rabauliman of the Patriots, who lead the league with a perfect 9-0 record, has the most runs so far with 22, followed by Regis with 19 and Zachary Aldan with 18.
Rabauliman also leads the league in homeruns with seven.
Regis has the most doubles with seven, while Brian Camacho has earned six, but has the most triples with seven. Camacho’s teammate Lamarc Igual has four triples.
Robert Tudela has the most RBIs with 20, while Rabauliman and Brian Camacho have 16 and 15, respectively.
On the pitching leaders list, McDonald’s Tenorio is holding his ground on the mound with a .77 ERA. In six games and 23.1 innings, he allowed only 11 hits with three earned runs charged against him.
The Ol’Aces I’s Virolanson Secharmidal kept the second spot with his .80 ERA. In five games and 15 innings, he allowed 19 hits.
Completing the top five are the Hustlers’ Aldebert Lizama (2.65 ERA), the Aztecs’ Dela Cruz (2.80 ERA) and the Hustlers’ Austin Lizama (3.00 ERA).
Tenorio also leads the league in strikeouts with 57, followed by Jeremy Lizama with 40, L. J Norita with 34.
