Rivals keep hopes alive; Mesekiu, Bullets, Sharks join march

The Ngermid Rivals continued their winning run in the Division I of the NBL as it won its first playoff game against the Ranchers, 101-73, last Friday April 20.
With the victory, the No. 1 Rivals earned the right to face the winner of the Styxers-Ididers match-up, which was scheduled as of presstime last night.
The other game last night was between defending champion Peched Raw and the Ikelauans, both winning over their respective foes in their first playoff matches.
Javis Pedro led four other Rivals with double-digit scores as he finished with 22 points. Spis Gordon had 18 while Scout Matsutaro had 12 and Jacob 10. Osmau led the Ranchers with 33.
In Division II, PCC Mesekiu advanced with an 86-60 victory over Palau Pacific Resort also on April 20 leaning on Daffy’s game high of 30 points.
Earlier on April 19, the Bullets ousted Airai, 82-76 with Rush Santos takign charge in the scoring chores by coming home with 28 markers.
The Ngarchelong Blue Sharks also joined the march by winning over Klebokel, 85-72.
Last year’s rookie of the year Tutii Benjamin led the sharks with 20 points.
The Bullets were still playing against the Stingers as of presstime last night.
Today’s games will be between the Ngiwal 79ers and Mesekiu, between Mason’s Hardware and Peches and between Mesang and Blue Sharks.
