Amot Tumaga’

TAOTAO Tano expresses un dankulu na si yuus ma’ase for Mr. Ambrose M. Bennett’s active participation in the process of finding the cure for our political cancer. I believe I had told you previously to drink AMOT TININU but it appears that it has not been working for you. I’ll like to recommend for you to go “MASAF FI’,” but let’s try another one of Tautau Moana specialty before the real down-to-earth Tun Juan concoction. I would like to see you try another medicine, AMOT TUMAGA and possibly Chamorro Surgery. This might bring out the truth.
Mr. Bennett, you should know the substance of my tip-offs. So I don’t have to take a chance to twist any thing into a negative forum because that is not too important compared to what we are facing now. Your letter to the Marianas Variety, 8/7, gives me more self-confidence and made me more determined to pursue the objectives of the Taotao Tano group. I am not ashamed to have it known that I called you and others for help. It is a huge undertaking for me, both politically and financially. Yes, Mr. Bennett, I am not academically nor financially blessed to handle our political problems but I do have courage to get things going and for others to join in assistance. And yes, our group is very political in support of our four objectives. 1) To preserve our unique Chamorro and Carolinian cultures, 2) To maintain our government operational integrity, 3) To support a healthy and sustainable economy, and 4) To recommend matters for general public affairs. While we are members of Taotao Tano, our individual choice is very much in tune with democratic principles.
As president of Taotao Tano, I feel that I have learned so much from this endeavor. Thanks to the people who have lived under this oppressive political condition and are now willing to make a change. For your information, Mr. Bennett, the consensus on the issue of federalization is neutral and to let our elected leaders under our representative democratic system decide what is best for our island. And now Ambrose, I believe we have established a common ground for our groups to work together. I still want to invite you and your members to have public visibility to push for operational integrity in the government.
