Palau will be hosting the 2007 Micronesian Cup Canoe Competitions on Oct. 27-28, Palau National Olympic Committee Secretary-General Baklai Temengil said yesterday.
A total of six nations have so far confirmed their participation including Australia, Singapore, Japan, Hong Kong, Guam and Saipan.
It will be the second time in four years that the country is hosting this international canoe race following the successful 2004 event.
Singapore will be its team for the first time for the two-day event.
Guam hosted the event in 2005 while Saipan had it in 2006.
Meanwhile, the national athletes for canoe are preparing for the upcoming Pacific Games in Apia, Samoa slated August 24 to Sept. 8.
