A mandatory meeting for coaches or team representatives will be held tomorrow to discuss details of the 2007 Saipan Rotary Club Youth Basketball League.
The 18-and-under caging is set to kick off tentatively on Aug. 13 at the Gilbert C. Ada Gym with at least 10 teams expected to battle for this year’s championship.
Leaguer coordinator Elias Rangamar of the Basketball Association of Northern Mariana Islands said that teams whose coaches/representatives who will not attend tomorrow’s meeting will not be allowed to join the youth caging.
The meeting is set for 4:30 p.m. in Gilbert C. Ada Gym’s conference room.
Rangamar added that the tournament requirements are also due this Friday. Teams are required to submit players’ and waiver forms, identification cards (if joining Rotary for the first time), signed players/coaches conduct form and entrance fees.
The BANMI official reminded teams that they will be barred from playing in the game if they have incomplete uniforms.
The schedule of games will be finalized this Friday.
The 10 teams that have shown an interest in joining the league were the G-Stars, Rock Steady, Sonics, Sonics Jr., Sixers I and II and four teams from the Garapan G-Rollers.
The G-Rollers 1 are this year’s defending champion beating the Sixers last year.
