THE Superior Court of Guam
grand jury returned a true bill against eight individuals who were earlier
arrested for possession of methamphetamine or ice.
Indicted were Jesse Benavente Quinene, 41, Anthony Quitugua Gumataotao,
39, John Navarro Camacho, 34, John Joseph Rosario, 26, Fermin Paul Reyes
Unpingco, 31, Terry Reyes Lane, 27, Georgette Sablan Cruz, 26, and Lelani
Michelle Peredo, 27.
Except for Lane who was also charged with family violence and assault,
all others were charged with possession of a schedule II controlled substance
as a third-degree felony.
Quinene, Gumataotao and Unpingco, who were caught committing the offense
on March 22, 2005, were ordered to return to court for a trial setting
on Feb. 21 at 10 a.m.
Camacho and Rosario, who were caught in possession of the illegal drugs
on April 11, 2005 and Nov. 24, 2004, respectively, were ordered to return
on the same date for the same proceeding.
Cruz and Peredo, who were arrested on Jan. 19, 2007 in possession of controlled
substance, were scheduled to return to court for a trial setting on Feb.
7 at 4 p.m.
Lane was scheduled for an arraignment on the same day. He was arrested
in Merizo after his mother, Mary Reyes Lane, called the police to report
that he became angry when she told him not to drink beer in her house
in Agat.
When police located Lane in his car parked near the Merizo pier, they
found a glass pipe with suspected residue of methamphetamine.
