SINCE the beginning of the New Year, the Guam Police Department has seen an increase in theft cases—from purse snatchings to car theft.
On Tuesday, police arrested Makaifer June Kuma, 19, of Yigo, for allegedly breaking into a Dededo home, taking a purse, and taking the homeowners’ vehicle, while they were at home.
Kuma was charged with burglary, theft of motor vehicle, theft of property, reckless driving, leaving the scene of accident with property damage, and no driver’s license. He was booked and confined.
“The stolen vehicle was a gray Mitsubishi Mirage which was later spotted by a friend (of the car owner) traveling in the northern area of Guam,” said Guam Police Department public affairs officer Allan Guzman.
