Chin said no favoritism in Trustee Program

 By Bernadette H. Carreon
Horizon news staff

Vice President and Justice Minister Elias Camsek Chin said that there is no special treatment in the selection of inmates who will be selected to join the Trustee program.
Under the program, an inmate when selected will be allowed to help either at the Subelek Farm, Division of Fish and Wildlife Protection or the Bureau of Public Safety Administration and the police substations.
The program is under fire for alleged number of escapes committed by inmates selected to join the program.
Chin said that an inmate who violates the program will be penalized and removed from the program.
He also added that in the selection process is very strict that nepotism and favoritism are not allowed.
He said an inmate who escaped or commit a violation while under the Trustee Program will be charged or placed in the isolation room of the Koror Jail.
That inmate will not be allowed to mingle with other prisoners as well if found in violation of the program.
