The Bureau of Public Safety on Tuesday welcomed Officer Alvin Ingereklii back to Palau after 11 months of deployment as part of the Regional Mission to Solomon Islands.
Ingereklii was commended by Vice President and Justice Minister Elias Camsek Chin for his outstanding performance during the deployment.
"The report I received about him is outstanding," Chin said.
Ingereklii was also presented with a Participating Police Force Certificate of Service by RAMSI
Ingerkelii and Byrson Ngiratumerang were deployed together in Solomon Islands and among their duties are to provide security measures.
RAMSI is comprised of personnel from the following countries: Australia, New Zealand, Fiji, Tonga, Papua New Guinea, Cook Islands, Kiribati, Samoa. Vanuatu and Nauru.
The overall aim of RAMSI is to establish an effective and legitimate community-based policing service which is appropriate for Solomon Islands society, helping to restore social, economic, and security stability.
The two officers said they are happy to be picked by the ministry and vowed to give their best to the mission.
Ingereklii said he had learned a lot from the deployment.
"I am glad that I had an opportunity to go to the Solomon Islands. I gave some and learned some," he said.
