PSS slips past DPH in women’s gov’t softball

PAULINE Tudela and Diana Felix drove in a pair of runs as the Public School System squeezed out a 6-5 triumph over the Department of Public Health in the continuation of action in the Inter-government Women’s Slow-pitch Softball League Tuesday night at the Miguel Basa “Tan Ge” Pangelinan Ballfield.
Felix went 1-for-2 and drove in a run when she walked with the bases loaded, capping a three-run fifth inning.
Tudela, 1-for-2, had an RBI single which let Connie Camacho score in that same inning.
Remy Celis went 2-for-4 scoring two runs while Camacho also scored twice after going 2-for-3.
Ten of the 11 players by DPH got hits in the game.
Julie Castro was the lone player that failed to get a hit but she had two RBIs when she drove in two runs on a PSS error.
In the second game, Liz Palacios and Liz Lebria had five RBIs as Finance walloped the Governor’s Office, 21-9.
Palacios had two doubles including a bases-clearing double that highlighted a seven-run fifth inning.
Bert Camacho and Jaime Nogis had three RBIs to provide support for Finance.
Norma Mira and Jennifer Palacios had four RBIs to lead the Commonwealth Utilities Corp. to a 13-9 win over Department of Community and Cultural Affairs in the final match.
