Masters softball meet resumes Sunday

By Jonathan V. Perez
Variety News Staff

GAMES in the 2006 season of the Belau Amateur Softball Association-organized Men’s Masters Slow-pitch Softball League will resume on Sunday at the DanDan Elementary School Ballfield.
The games were put off for two consecutive Sundays after BASA gave way to the Saipan Little League and the NMI Crime Stoppers.
BASA cancelled their games on Jan. 21 and 28 to allow the SLL softball fundraising tournament and the 5th Annual Crime Stoppers Softball Tournament to take place.
BASA president Brian Adelbai said they will reschedule the games that were cancelled. The matches will be played after the end of the regular season.
Kamesang, which will play a double-header on Sunday, is set to face the Chelus at 11 a.m. in the first game. They will meet Team Pacific Telecom Inc. at 2 p.m.
The second game will pit Seabridge against Keblois at 12 noon while Adai Ombung will collide with Safang at 1 p.m.
Adelbai reminded teams to start preparing for BASA’s regular softball league, which is set to open its season at the end of February or in the first week of March.
The BASA Men’s Slow-pitch Softball League is open to players 17-and-up.
For more information, contact Adelbai at 234-8438 or Ace Yoshida at 236-2574.
