Yumul: NMI residents can listen in on DC hearing

REPRESENTATIVE Ray N. Yumul says CNMI residents can listen in on testimony from witnesses who speak at the public hearing that will be conducted in Washington, D.C. on Feb. 8 starting at 9:30 a.m. EST (12:30 midnight, Feb. 9 in the CNMI).
To be conducted by the U.S. Senate Committee on Energy and Natural Resources, the hearing on the “Conditions in the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands” will receive testimony on issues relating to CNMI labor, immigration, law enforcement and economic conditions.
Yumul, Ind.-Saipan, said CNMI residents can go online to www.Capitolhearings.org. You may need to download free software called Real Player at www.real.com onto your computer prior to the hearing schedule. The software will allow you to listen and watch a live video feed from Washington, D.C.
If you are not able to go online, you may visit the committee Web site at http://energy.senate.gov/public/ at a later time to view the archived video at your convenience.
For more information, call Yumul’s office at 664-8841 or -8825.
