Pro-Korean soccer team takes on Guam tomorrow

THE Korean Professional Football (Soccer) Team Incheon United is scheduled to play a second and final exhibition match against Guam’s National Team tomorrow.
The game is slated for 7 p.m at the Guam Football Federation Field in Harmon as Guam plays host to Korea’s Incheon United Professional Soccer Team.
According to officials with the GFA, “The Korean team is on Guam for two weeks of spring training. There are over 50 players and staff that comprise the group.”
GFA President Richard Lai stated that the visit and decision to train on Guam by the organization bodes well for the island. “One way to increase our international potential and development is to have quality clubs such as Incheon United who come to Guam to train, share their skills and knowledge with us. In the end,” stated Lai. He added, “Everyone benefits. These exhibition matches will prepare our National players for the upcoming East-Asian Football Federation competition in March.” On Saturday, the group scheduled a free coaching clinic. The focus of the free training was goal keeping and conditioning. GFA officials added that they are hopeful there will be more teams making the decision to hold such training sessions on Guam.
