No leader in HS girls’ softball

By R. Vincent Tupaz
For Variety

THERE is no clear-cut leader in the chase for the girls’ high school softball gold thus far.
Most teams have concluded two games each as of last Saturday in the Independent Interscholastic Athletic Association of Guam Girls’ Softball League.
Thus far, in the Taga Division, the defending champs Simon Sanchez Sharks are on an even keel with the John F. Kennedy Islanders with two wins apiece. St. John’s, which lost its season opener on Saturday to the Sharks, are 0-1 and the St. Paul Lady Warriors seek their first win at 0-2.
In the Gadao Division, the Southern High Dolphins and have an identical record with the Lady Panthers from Guam High. Each found success in their first two games and boast 2-0 records. Meanwhile, the George Washington Lady Geckos from Mangilao have won once and lost once. And private schools Notre Dame and the Academy of Our Lady of Gua, have both dropped each of its two games on the diamond.
