Peches kept its winning streak as it snapped Airai’s own run with a masterful 83-69 decision on Saturday Jan 27 in Division II of the 2007 Shell NBL.
The win was Peches seventh consecutive as it easily recovered from a 11-9 first quarter deficit with a 31-11 run in the second quarter on the way to the victory and stalled the four-straight run of Airai.
Ceasar and Kalei Lui led four other players of Peches in double-digit scores with 14 and 13 points, respectively.
Just a day before on Jan 26, Peches came off with an overtime victory against the Bullets, 80-77, with Melngis scoring four of his 15 in the extra period.
Regulation time ended at 71-all but Peches outscored the Bullets in extension play, 9-6, to prevail. The win also snapped the Bullets’ five-game winning streak.

Silas Adolf led the Bullets with 17 points, including seven in overtime in their game against Klebokl.
Bolton and Hosel led Ngiwal Central with 21 and 19 but it was Kevin who made the marginal basket to cap his seven-point total in the game against the 79ers.
The Matadors was led by team captain Noel, who scored all of his six points in the fourth, four of them in the free throw line including the winning point.
Juvic and Arnel had 23 and 22 for the Matadors.
