Football junkies weigh Colts Win

By R. Vincent Tupaz
For Variety

The Indianapolis Colts win over the Chicago Bears in Super Bowl XLI helped an overrated quarterback earn his place in American football history and treated fans to a decent game when compared to years past.
For Colts fan Justin Peredo, 17 of Sinajana, who had newfound fortune as a result of the “W” by Peyton Manning and Co. watching the game was well worth his time “Yeah baby!” stated Peredo “Fifty bucks into my pocket, I knew the Colts would win, Peyton Manning is a great QB!”
Classmate AJ Cortes of Liguan Terrace offered a different take. “Darn it! I wanted the bears to win, but they had too many mistakes and really poor defense.”
Peredo’s Manning would go on to claim Super Bowl honors as the games Most Valuable Player. “Maybe because he slipped a couple of times and still won,” said a disgruntled Cortes. “He’s lucky their defense gave them the ball at least five times.”
“No, he completed a good number of passes,” said Peredo. Indeed Manning would boast 25 of 38 attempts, a total of 239 yards passing and a touchdown to boot, was sacked and intercepted just once in his game of a lifetime to lead his team to victory.
Cortes’ cousin Kevin Alegre of Yigo after the game remained in denial. “It was all just a fluke, the Bears should have won,” stated Alegre.
Still Manning and deserving Coach Tony Dungy march into history as Champions of the National Football League, until next year at least.
