The Davao City
government in the Philippines is ready to forge a sister cityhood agreement
with the Koror State government.
Davao state government legislature passed an ordinance which will pave
the way for cooperation in several areas between the two cities.
The Davao city ordinance stated that Davao Mayor Rodrigo Duterte is authorized
" to sign for an in behalf of the city , the sisterhood agreement
to be entered into and by and between the city government of Davao and
the Koror State government, Republic of Palau."
Philippine Ambassador to Palau Ramoncito Marino said that the signing
will be held in Davao between Duterte and Koror State Gov. Yositaka Adachi
The sister city cooperation will expand efforts in the fields of trade
and investment, tourism, education, culture, sport, agriculture, fisheries,
environment and medical cooperation among others.
The agreement will be enforced for a period of five years and is automatically
extended for five years.
