Melekeok State Capitol inauguration today

President Remengesau, Taiwan Ambassador Mathew S. Lee and House Speaker Augustine Mesebeluu, High Chief Reklai Raphael Ngirmang, Governor Lazarus Kodep lead other top government and traditional leaders and special guests in today’s inauguration ceremonies of the new Melekeok State Capitol -- Bailechesau 2007.
Funded by the national government and through a grant from Taiwan, the new building was built by HANPA Construction with a contract amount of $225,000.
Construction ran for almost three years starting on October 2003 and was completed on May 2006.
The ribbon cutting ceremony starts at 10 a.m. with the students of Melekeok Elementary School leading the National and State Anthems.
Pastor Charles Hubert will do the invocation and benediction while Huana Rengulbai is the mistress of ceremony.
High Chief Reklai welcomes guests before the president, Amb. Chen and Speaker Mesebeluu deliver special remarks.
Minister of Resources and Development Fritz Koshiba will give the details of the project while Kathy Kesolei does the introduction of Bailechesau.
Aftet the traditional chant, Gov. Kodep delivers his closing remarks.
