DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE RECOGNIZES OPA. From left, Assistant U.S. Attorney Timothy E. Moran, Federal Bureau of Investigation Special Agent Dana McMahon and former Office of the Public Auditor Analyst Manager Rufo T. Mafnas. The U.S. Department of Justice recently presented special recognition awards to OPA’s audit and investigative staff. The awards, presented by Moran and McMahon, were presented for OPA’s audit and investigative assistance on two public corruption cases that led to convictions in federal district court in 2006. For their “commendable performance” during the joint OPA-FBI Task Force investigations, OPA staff receiving the awards were investigative staffers Taula Peter, Rolando Decena and Thelma Mizer.
