Mafnas. The U.S. Department of Justice recently presented special
recognition awards to OPAs audit and investigative staff.
The awards, presented by Moran and McMahon, were presented for OPAs
audit and investigative assistance on two public corruption cases
that led to convictions in federal district court in 2006. For their
commendable performance during the joint OPA-FBI Task
Force investigations, OPA staff receiving the awards were investigative
staffers Taula Peter, Rolando Decena and Thelma Mizer. Also receiving
awards were senior analyst Robert C. Torres and former OPA analyst
