ORGANIZERS of the Saipan Cell/BANMI 25-an-under Basketball League will be meeting tomorrow to decide the opening date of the youth caging.
Abner Venus of the Basketball Association of Northern Mariana Island said the meeting is set for 5:30 p.m. at the Gilbert C. Ada Gym.
He added that the requirements are also due this Friday.
“We need to have the requirements by Friday so we can draft the schedule,” Venus said.
One of the requirements is the entrance fee of $500 per team.. If teams want to have uniforms (tops only), they need to pay a $650 entrance fee.
So far, at least 11 teams have shown an interest in joining the 25-and-under caging. They are two teams from the Garapan Rollers and the San Antonio Sixers, the Sonics, Ghasias Brothers, Ol’Aces, Cholos, Saints, a team from Susupe and the CNMI Junior National Team.
The Junior Nationals will be playing in the 25-and-under caging to prepare for the Micronesian Basketball 19-and-under Youth Tournament.
The regional tournament will be held at the University of Guam Fieldhouse from Nov. 18 to Nov. 24.
