THE Department of Public Safety arrested seven men and one juvenile over the weekend in connection with copper wire thefts.
The eight are now in the custody of the Department of Corrections.
The suspects were arrested on Friday afternoon, Friday night and Saturday night.
Their names, however, were not yet available as of press time and DPS had yet to issue an official report.
A bail of $50,000 for each of the suspects was set by the Superior Court.
Last month, DPS arrested seven persons in separate incidents after they were caught in possession of stolen copper wire.
Police also arrested the owner of a recycling center who was caught in the act of buying stolen Commonwealth Utilities Corp. copper wire.
