A 27-year-old man charged
with burglarizing a womans house has agreed to leave the CNMI.
Jerry Derson Ramon, represented by Assistant Public Defender Douglas Hartig,
pleaded guilty at a hearing on Thursday.
Assistant Attorney General John Aguon agreed to dismiss the other charge,
which was theft.
Associate Judge Juan T. Lizama accepted the plea and sentenced Ramon to
five years of imprisonment, all suspended except for five months and 14
days.
Ramon was given credit for time already served and was released from the
custody of the Department of Corrections on Thursday at 4:30 p.m.
He agreed to leave the CNMI after his release from jail.
Ramon, who is from Palau, was placed on supervised probation for five
years and will not enter the CNMI while on probation.
According to the AGs Office, Ramon, on Aug. 18, entered the building
occupied by Jacoba Seman with the purpose of committing theft.
Ramon was charged with burglary and theft for entering the residence of
Seman and stealing a bottle of vodka, a picture frame and $10 in cash.
