Sharer, Kabriel rule final Enticer races

THE Northern Mariana Islands Triathlon Federation held the last of a series of Enticer and Sprint Series races last Saturday with Dirk Sharer and Jack Kabriel winning their respective division.
Dirk Sharer ruled the long course division beating 11 other participants, while Kabriel topped the short course category.
Sharer timed in at 24 minutes, 18 seconds in the 1,200m swim and was ranked second in that event. He posted 1:04:02 in the 32K. Combining his times in the swim and bike, Sharer had a 1:28:20 total. In the 8K run, he finished first with a time of 37:15. Overall Sharer had a combined time of 2:05:35, about seven minutes ahead of second placer Mieko Carey, who posted 2:12:09.
Other participants in the long course division were Lewie Tenorio (2:14:00), Butch ublemente (2:16:49), Maimi Shimizu (2:19):58), Florian Briag (2:22:09), Josh Brger (2:21:58), Fred Camacho (2:35:44) and Kimiko Hasegawa 2:37:51.
Three other participants did not place, as they either deviated from the course or were disqualified.
In the short course, Kabriel timed in at 11:24 in the 600m swim, 37:46 in the 16K bike, 19:13 in the 4K bike for a combined time of 1:08:23.
Izumi Yamaguchi had the second best time with 1:18:30, but was disqualified, after missing the banzai route.
Other participants in the short course were Heather Kennedy (1:18:35), Phil Debarras (1:19:23), Elisa Long (1:19:55), Allison Livingston (1:26:45), Sue Knecht (1:27:20) and Harumi Sugihasha (1:27:28).
At the end of the race, organizers held a raffle with Hasegawa winning the grand prize, which is a 2-day one night stay for four with breakfast at the Pacific Islands Club plus $150 cash.
The series of Enticers races was set up to prepare triathletes for the XTERRA and Tagaman races next month.
