A MAN was found dead near
Kilili Beach on Saturday morning.
Acting Department of Public Safety spokesman Sgt. Thomas Blas Jr. said
police received a call regarding a body floating in the water approximately
20 feet from the shore.
The identity of the victim, possibly of Micronesian descent, will not
be released pending notification of next of kin, Blas said.
According to a preliminary investigation by Patrol Officer Melinda Villanueva,
the victim was retrieved by medical personnel at the scene, 20 feet from
shore, in knee-deep water.
The victim was found floating face down.
He was brought to the Commonwealth Health Center and pronounced dead at
10:30 a.m.
Police said the incident is now under investigation. Neither foul play
nor drowning has been ruled out, Blas said.
DPS is urging anyone with information about this incident to call Crime
Stoppers at 234-7272.
