Book
donation
(SSHS)
Saipan Southern High School Library is a proud recipient of new books
worth about $800 from the Children of Our Homeland Project, through the
Friends of the Library.
Funding for the books was made possible by the Administration for Native
Americans. The school library celebrated its 1st Teen Read Week in October
2006 using these books and other materials.
Saipan Southern High School students now enjoy reading the new books added
to the school library collection. Fiction, non-fiction and short stories
of various genres are now in circulation in the school library. Rich collections
of cultural and local books are also added to the school library.
Our small school library helps transform our community by the books
and other resources that we offer, says Sudi Q. Napalan, the school
librarian. I am grateful to the Administration for Native Americans
and the Children of Our Homeland Project at the Joeten/Kiyu Public Library
for lending us a hand.
