PROA gained its second win in the 45-and-up division of the Masters Basketball League after beating Top 45, 83-72, last Friday at the Gilbert C. Ada Gym.
Rufino Aguon’s hot shooting and Poland Yamada’s impressive offensive game helped Proa cruise to an 11-point victory.
Aguon had five triples and finished with 25 points, while Yamada took care of business inside nailing 22 markers.
Ed Manalili also contributed to Proa’s winning cause adding 13 markers.
With Aguon firing two 3-pointers in the first quarter and Yamada getting a few inside baskets, Proa took a 31-16 lead.
They kept the driver’s seat at halftime, 44-33, as Aguon continued to hit from outside and Manalili started finding his marks.
Oscar Masga tried to bring Top 45 back into the game, but failed, as he was no match for the tandem of Aguon and Yamada, who still gave Proa the lead, 67-55, entering the final canto.
Top 45 never recovered from thereon despite getting 20 points from Masga. John Deleon Guerrero chipped in 16 markers.
Meanwhile, there will be no games tomorrow in observance of Valentines Day.
Action returns on Friday with PTI Tropical Storm battling Proa at 8 p.m. in the 45-and-up division.
