Little league meeting Thursday


SAIPAN Little League Baseball will be having a mandatory meeting this Thursday to put the finishing touches on its preparation for the opening of the 2007 season.
SLLB president Joe Salas said team managers are required to attend the meeting, which is set for 6:30 p.m. in the conference room of the Gilbert C. Ada Gym.
Salas added that teams who have yet to complete the requirements must submit them on Thursday.
The 2007 season of the annual tournament will kick off on Friday with a brief opening ceremony at the Miguel “Tan Ge” Pangelinan Ballfield at 6 p.m.
All teams are requested to be at the venue at 5 p.m.


Valentine pool tournament at USS Peleliu Club


THE USS Peleliu Club in Garapan will be holding a Valentine pool tournament tomorrow with free entry.
Tournament organizer Rose Philips said the registration will start at 7:30 p.m. at the USS Peleliu Club. The event is open to men and women players age 18-and-above.
Registration will end at 8:30 p.m., as participants will begin playing in a double-elimination or best-of-three games format.
The top placer will receive $50, while gifts await the second and third finishers.

Fast-pitch softball meeting Thursday


FAST-pitch softball tournament organizer Manny Tenorio is calling on interested teams to attend a meeting on Thursday, Feb. 15 at 6 p.m. at the Gilbert C. Ada Gym.
Tenorio said they will discuss details of the upcoming fast-pitch softball tournament for men and women at the meeting.
He added that they are planning to open the tournament either in the last week of February or the first week of March.
Last year’s pennant and championship in the fast-pitch tournament was won by the D-9ers.
