Crisostimo hopes for fair process for all Democratic candidates

SENATOR Luis P. Crisostimo, who is seeking a second term in November, wants the Democratic Party’s central committee to extend fair and equal treatment to potential candidates during the screening and evaluation process.
The party has so far received eight applications from prospective candidates, including that of Crisostimo.
Applications will be accepted until March 5.
“In the event that there is more than one candidate vying for my seat…I hope the party’s central committee will give everybody fair and equal treatment,” Crisostimo said. |I will be defending my seat…and I am hoping that the party will make a decision soon.”
Crisostimo said with the Democratic Party back in power in the U.S. Congress, it is best for local Democrats to also revitalize their party and affiliate with the national Democrats.
“I think it’s the best time to be connected to the national Democratic Party because they will listen and help us…especially on financial issues,” he said.
Crisostimo said he expects this year’s midterm election to be “more complex.”
“It will be harder to run this year,” he added. “Our agenda should be economic because the economy is not in the best shape. It’s time to put our best act together and revive our weak economy…and lawmakers need to be sensitive to the needs and voices of the people,” he said.
