THE Marianas Racing Association
will be holding its second point race this Sunday at the Cowtown Raceway
Park in Marpi.
MRA president Eric Cruz is encouraging fans, relatives and friends to
watch the race and support the riders.
The association held its first point race of the year on Jan. 28 with
nine riders having a strong start in the 2007 season.
They were Chris Alepuyo, Britney Camacho, Manuel Celis, Edinna and Patty
Cepeda, Manny Flores, Janece Salas, Shane Alvarez and Ellery Cruz.
Alepuyo ruled the B/B ATV expert class, Celis and Britney Camacho topped
the B/B/ ATV novice class and Mini ATV, respectively, Edinna won the PW/80,
Patty dominated the PW/50, Flores prevailed in the 80/85 expert class,
Salas claimed the powerpuff class title and Cruz placed first in the 125
expert class.
Riders who participate in the monthly point race will earn points based
on how they finish in the race. At the end of the season, the top point
getter will be recognized and will be awarded the No. 1 plate in his class.
This Sundays races will start at 11 a.m.
Before the races, the MRA board will be holding a general membership meeting
at 10 a.m.
They will also hold a riders meeting, which will be led by MRA track
marshall Warren Villagomez.
Meanwhile, MRA said that a new PW50 (Yamaha) will be available for any
interested riders on Sundays races.
