THE Refaluwasch Golfers Association has new officers with veteran golfer Tony Satur elected president replacing many-time RGA head Jess Wabol.
Five other RGA members were elected officers of the club following an election on Feb. 3. They are Adam Hardwicke, vice president; Sonny Flores, treasurer; Joe “Kamikaze” Camacho, tournament director; Alex Aquiningoc, handicap chairman; and Carlos Salas, secretary.
In a statement released to the media, the new officers thanked Wabol for his dedication to RGA in the past years.
The club also welcomed new members Manny Alvarez and Reno Celis.
Meanwhile, Wabol ruled the February Ace qualifying tournament beating Hardwicke in a scorecard tiebreak.
Wabol and Hardwicke both drilled a net 70, but the former prevailed with a net 35 on the front nine.
Placing third was Nick Sablan.
Other RGA members who competed in the February Ace qualifying tournament were Aquiningoc (71), Kamikaze (74), Richard Jones (77), Salas (77), Satur (77) and Gus Camacho (79).
Wabol will have a chance to earn the February Ace title and a possible slot in the RGA Club Championships in December if his score is unbeaten this Sunday.
RGA will be holding the February Ace tournament on the east course of the LaoLao Bay Golf Resort with participants hoping to score better than 70 to grab the monthly plum from Wabol.
The check-in time is 11:30 a.m., while tee off is at 12:28 p.m.
