A 31-year-old man charged
for beating up his wife was convicted of the offense and got a three-day
jail term.
Norbert Iglecias Jr., also known as Norbert Jr. Iglecias, pleaded guilty
to the charge yesterday.
Iglecias was represented by Assistant Public Defender Adam Hardwicke.
Associate Judge Ramona V. Manglona accepted the plea and sentenced Iglecias
to one year of imprisonment all suspended except for three days.
Iglecias was ordered to report to the Department of Corrections yesterday
at 12 noon to begin serving the sentence and he will be released on Feb.
17 at 12 noon.
Iglecias was placed on probation for a period of one year and was ordered
to pay a fine of $250 and assessment fee of $25.
He will pay a probation fee of $100 and will perform 40 hours of community
work service at a rate of five hours per month.
Iglecias was also ordered to complete any course of treatment including
anger management at the Community Guidance Center.
A review hearing was set for May 30 at 9 a.m.
According to the Attorney Generals office, Iglecias grabbed and
kicked his wife on June 24, 2006.
