President Remengesau asked the public to conserve water in preparation of the El Nino Phenomenon this year.
In his weekly conference, the president said Guam, Palau, Saipan and Federated States of Micronesia will be experiencing an El Nino Phenomenon starting February up to August, according to the National Weather Service in Guam.
He said conservation efforts should begin early because Palau’s water reservoir may not accommodate the water needs of the entire country during the dry season.
He said last year due to the heavy amount of rainfall, the water reservoir maintained its normal level.
The president asked the community to begin filling up their water tanks to prepare for the dry season.
