SALVATION IS HERE. From left, Salvation Army ministry leaders Wayne Gillespie and his wife Annie, advisory committee member Jeff Schorr, Micronesian Islands coordinator Major Brian Saunders, and advisory committee members Mark Birmingham and Mike Johnson pose after the recent Rotary Club of Saipan meeting at the Hyatt Regency. The Salvation Army, an international social service organization responding to the physical and spiritual needs of people in 111 countries, is opening its Saipan office on Capital Hill on Sunday. Schorr, Birmingham and Johnson, as Salvation Army advisory board members, will help determine the needs of the local community, without duplicating the functions of other social service entities like Karidat and Red Cross.
