THE playoff round in the 2nd
Calvary International Mission-Filipino Community Church Inter-Color Basketball
League-Genesis Invitational Cup will begin this Sunday at the Gilbert
C. Ada Gym.
Seven teams will be playing in the playoffs with the pennant champion
Daniel getting a bye in the single-elimination playoffs.
Daniel drew a bye after finishing the regular season with an 8-1 record.
Joshua also held an 8-1 slate, but dropped to the No. 2 spot after losing
to Daniel in the regular season.
Joshua will kick off the action in the playoff round, as it meets the
No. 7 team Isaiah in the first game at 4 p.m.
Isaiah grabbed the last playoffs ticket after finishing with a 3-6 slate.
In the second game this Sunday, the No. 3 Jeremiah (6-2) plays the No.
6 squad Nehemiah while the third match will feature the No. 4 Caleb facing
the No. 5 Elijah.
Nehemiah, Caleb and Elijah all finished the regular season with a 5-4
record and their final position in the team standings were determined
by a quotient system. Caleb earned +61 points, Elijah had +28 and Nehemiah
got +6.
The winner of the Joshua-Isaiah tiff will meet the victor of the Jeremiah-Nehemiah
tiff next Saturday for the first finals berth.
Daniel will face the winner of the Caleb-Elijah game for the last finals
ticket on Feb. 24.
The winner-take-all finals is set for March 3, also at the Ada Gym.
