TWO individuals were arrested
and charged by the Guam Police Department with retail theft after Department
of Corrections parole officers busted them with stolen items.
Jeffrey Fejeran Villacorta, 39, of Maite, and Darcy Sablan Toves, 34,
of Barriagda, were arrested while checked in at the Hunters Inn
on YPao Road, according to GPD public affairs officer Allan Guzman.
Guzman said Villacorta was arrested and charged with possession of a schedule
II controlled substance, retail theft, and conspiracy.
DOC parole officer Dean Taitague said Villacorta was wanted by parole
officers for parole violations. He said Villacorta served
time in 1999 for possession of a schedule II substance, namely crystal
methamphetamine, commonly known as ice.
Villacorta is now serving three years parole for the 1999 conviction.
It is still unknown whether his arrest will have an impact on his parole
which is up for review by the Guam Parole Board next year.
Toves, meanwhile, was charged with illegal possession of a controlled
substance, retail theft, guilt by complicity, and conspiracy. The two
were booked and confined.
When parole officers arrived in their room, they immediately noticed the
drug paraphernalia which is a direct violation of Villacortas parole
conditions.
Guzman said there were about 20 DVDs found as well in the room. Police
allege that the DVDs were stolen from Blockbuster Video. Also found in
the room were numerous clothing items and other merchandise allegedly
stolen from Goodys and Macys.
