A 40-year old woman was found guilty of sexual abuse and indecent attack in criminal case 06-062.
Lori Ann Zucco, lawyer for the 10-year old victim, recommended three counts, one for sexual abuse, indecent attack and kidnapping.
The kidnapping case, however, was dismissed.
Zucco said that this case has been going on for about a year and the judgment was done yesterday at the sala of Chief Justice Arthur Ngiraklsong. It was filed on March 2006 and the victim, who is a girl, was 10 years old at the time of the incident.
The sentencing is set on Monday March 19 at 10:30 a.m.
Sexual abuse and indecent attack is punishable with five years each imprisonment while kidnapping is 10 years.
One of the co-accused in the same case, a 29-year old and who was living with the 40-year old woman at the time of the incident, had earlier pled guilty of indecent attack,
Zucco said that the man agreed to testify against his former partner in exchange for the sexual abuse charge.
He will also be sentenced on March 19.
