PCC Mesekiu won two more games
in against Ngaraard Red Torch, 20-10, and the Kayangel Angels, 9-4, in
the Palau Major League season at the Asahi Field.
Mesekiu defeated the young Red Torch team via 10-run rule in seven innings.
The Red Torch scored eight runs in the third inning then took a surprising
10-2 advantage over the league-leading Mesekiu.
However, in the bottom of third, PCC re-grouped and scored two to cut
the deficit to 4-10.
In the fifth inning, PCC scored five more to close the gap at 9-10 then
in the seventh, PCC brought the game to a close when they scored 11 runs,
highlighted by a three-run homer by Omsuul Yalap.
Veteran Kaleb Dulei came in relief and earned a victory. Yalap went four
for six with three singles, a three-run homer and four RBIs.
Also contributing offensively were, Melengis Uchel with a double and a
pair of singles, Bedor Kyota with a double, Ty Saiske with a triple, Dekei
Ngiramengior with a double and a single, Cleofas Iyar with a double and
Jason Mongkeya with a double.
The long awaited game between PCC and Kayangel finally happened on Feb.

The visiting team, Kayangel quickly got on board when leadoff batter Homer
Hesus scored in the first inning.
However, th ewinning pitcher Sureor Ngirailemesang would silence Kayangel
bats the rest of the way as he struckout seven and allowed only five base
hits.
Kayangel scord three more runs over the rest of the time inning game.
In the bottom of the second, PCC scored a run on singles by Spis Gordon
and Saiske.
PCC took the lead in the third inning when Yalap reached first on base
on balls, Ngiramengior singled and Mongkeya singled to score Yalap.
PCC continued their scoring in the fourth when leadoff hitter Kyota singled
to reach first.
Two consecutive singles by Ngiramengior and Caleb Meltel scored both Kyota
and Ngiramengior to make the score at 7-2 for PCC.
Kayangel reliever Omengkar Nagata kept PCC bats in check and scoreless
in the fifth, sixth and seventh as they scored one more run to cut PCC
lead to 3-7.
In the 8th inning, PCC score two more when Saiske singled to reach base
and Ngiramengior hit his homer over the leftfield fence, driving in two
more runs for the final score.
PCCs final game of the first round is against a strong Ngerbeched
team (5-1) as of presstime last night, a critical game because a win by
PCC would secure the top spot with a perfect record of 7-0.
A loss would create a three-way tie with Airai and Ngerbeched at 6-1.
