rode his top seed status to victory defeating second seed Jay Leon Guerrero
in a high scoring monthly King of the Lanes finals. Duenas and Leon Guerrero
struck on 26 of 30 frames enroute to a 268-256 match of which Duenas connected
on two more frames than Leon Guerrero to claim the title.
Duenas and Leon Guerrero easily disposed of their opponents in the semi-final
round. Duenas won over Rudy Palaganas 239-200 while Leon Guerrero beat
Freddie Cruz 277-203.
In the Prince of the lanes, John Raymundo defeated top seed Ryan Batac
in the finals 240-186 to win his first ever monthly championship.
Ricky Duenas and Ryan Batac topped the qualifying tables of the Budweiser
King and Prince of the Lanes. Duenas finished the six game qualifying
round King of the Lanes with a whopping 1397 pin count on games of 175,
279, 268, 224, 227 and 224 for an average of 232 pins per game, 114 pins
ahead of runner up Jay Leon Guerreros 1283 series. Leon Guerreros
279 last game enabled him to land the number two spot and a bye in the
first two rounds of the elimination format along with top seed Duenas.
Duane Camacho finished in third with a 1271 total followed by Freddie
Cruz 1213, Virgil Toledo 1196, Rudy Palaganas 1191, John McCarty 1178,
Brent Tibbatts 1170, Keith Guerrero 1167 and Charlie Catbagan rounding
up the top 10 with a 1163.
In the Prince of the Lanes division, Batac finished the set with a 1324
total followed by Arlene Taitague 1300, Leanne Rankin 1265, Matt Nauta
1232, Douglas Cabrera 1217, Joe Cruz 1214, John Raymundo 1204, Art Beltran
1188 and Rosen Miguel 1185. All scores in the Prince of the Lanes include
individual handicaps based on 80% of 200.
The top ten bowlers from each division then proceeded to the elimination
rounds
