2-man scramble golf tournament this Saturday


THE Refaluwasch Golfers Association will be holding a 2-man scramble format tournament on the west course of the LaoLao Bay Golf Resort this Saturday.
The check-in time is 12:30 p.m., while tee off is at 1:30 p.m.
The entrance fee is $100 per team.
Organizers will award cash prizes to the top three low-net teams and the top low-gross tandem.

Athletics clinic this weekend


NORTHERN Marianas Athletics announced that the Ambivalence Track and Field Club of Kawasaki, Japan will conduct a two-day clinic at the Oleai Sports Complex track and field facility on Feb. 24 and 25.
The Japanese group will be discussing techniques and conduct demonstrations related to sprints and middle distances races, jumps and throwing events.

NMASA Sports Banquet Feb. 27


THE 2007 Annual Sports Banquet of the Northern Marianas Amateur Sports Association is set for Feb. 27 at the Saipan Grand Hotel.
The event, which will be held to recognize the top athletes and coaches of the 2006 season, will start at 6 a.m.
All member federations are asked to inform their athlete-awardees to be at the venue to receive their awards.
Members of last year’s Hall of Fame class, Joe Sablan, Kurt Barnes, and the family of Cecilia Lisua are invited to attend the ceremony.
