THE Guam Police
Departments Juvenile Investigation Section is looking for a man
who attempted to kidnap a 10-year-old girl student at Astumbo Elementary
School yesterday.
The man has been described to be of slim build and with a balding head.
He was last seen wearing a long-sleeved red shirt, jeans and slippers
and driving a rusty white Nissan Sentra.
The girl reported the incident at 11:15 a.m. but the incident took
place around 10 a.m. The girl was not harmed. It took place on school
grounds, GPD public affairs officer Allan Guzman said.
Guam Public School System officials are looking into how the suspect got
onto the school grounds without anyone knowing, and tried to abduct one
of their students.
According to Guam Education Policy Boards policy number 630, Any
person on school property whose presence has not been authorized by the
school office is illegally on campus. Unauthorized school visitors shall
be requested by any school employee to obtain a visitor authorization
through the principals office or to leave the school grounds.
GPSS spokesperson Gerry Cruz asked parents/guardians to pick up their
child at school yesterday or escort them home, especially those at the
elementary level. Cruz could not tell Variety if there was a lack of school
aides on the Dededo campus.
Anyone with any information on this case is asked to call GPD at 472-8911
or Guam Crime Stoppers at 477-HELP(4357). Crime Stoppers does not use
caller ID and you do not have to leave your name. .
